Stress and Management

At Solution Focused Therapy Dublin, stress management can give you the help you need to deal with stress, however it affects you.

What is Stress and how does it build up?

Stress is a response to events that happen in your life, and how you react to those events can have a bearing on your tolerance for the effects that stress can have on you. Factors such as your thinking style (positive or negative attitude) can affect your resilience and tolerance level.

Each of the changes in life circumstances that you undergo has varying levels of stress attached to them, even though some of them may be positive experiences that you overall enjoy eg going on a holiday; they all carry a certain level of stress which can vary in degree from one person to another.

Stress can build up gradually if you have ongoing difficult circumstances, or it can result from a sudden change in your personal circumstances and how you react to this. Other factors that can affect your tolerance for stress are your life circumstances such as having friendship and a social network, having a sense of autonomy and control in your life and a good balance generally with a sense of meaning and purpose.
